Searching and Sorting Requests
Searching and Sorting Requests
When your Requests list grows, the search and sort controls let you find what you need without scrolling through every entry.
Searching Requests
The search bar at the top of the Requests list filters results as you type. The search runs across:
- Request name
- Submitter name
- Product names included in the request’s line items
Type any part of a name and the list updates immediately. Search is case-insensitive and works across all status tabs — so if you search while on the Approved tab, only approved requests matching your query will appear.
Clearing a Search
Click the × inside the search bar, or delete the text manually, to clear the search and return to the full list for the active tab.
Sorting the List
Click any column header in the list view to sort by that column. Click the same header again to toggle between ascending and descending order. The sort direction is indicated by a small arrow next to the column name.
Available sort columns:
ColumnSort behavior
Request name
Alphabetical A→Z / Z→A
Submitted by
Alphabetical by submitter name
Request type
Alphabetical by type name
Status
Draft → Pending → Approved → Denied → Archived / reversed
Date created
Oldest first / Newest first
Last updated
Least recently updated / Most recently updated
The default sort is Last updated, descending — the most recently touched request appears first.
Combining Search and Sort
Search and sort work together. You can search for a customer name and then sort the results by date created to find the earliest request for that customer. The active sort order persists when you type a new search term.
Filtering by Request Type or Date
For more targeted filtering beyond search, use the additional filter controls:
- Request type dropdown — Narrows the list to one request type
- Date range picker — Filters by submission date within a start and end date
These filters combine with the active search and the active status tab.
Searching on the Board View
Search and type filters also apply in kanban board view. When you type in the search bar on the board, cards that don’t match are hidden from all columns simultaneously, making it easy to locate a specific request regardless of its status.
