Creating Your Account and Setting Up Your Organization
Sign up and set up your organization in one step.
Every DiscountFlow account belongs to an organization. If you're the first person from your company to sign up, you create both at once. If someone has already set up your organization, you'll join through an invitation instead — see Inviting Team Members.
Signing Up
On the sign-up page, you'll provide:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Full name | Used as your display name throughout the app |
| Work email | Becomes your login and where notifications are sent |
| Organization name | The name of your company's workspace. Must be unique — DiscountFlow checks for a case-insensitive match and will ask you to choose a different name if it's taken |
| Password | Minimum 8 characters, entered twice to confirm |
Submitting the form creates your account and your organization together — there's no separate step.
What Happens When You Sign Up
Behind the scenes, creating an account:
- Creates a new organization (tenant) using the name you provided.
- Starts an initial subscription for that organization with a default status and seat limit (your plan may adjust these once you subscribe).
- Seeds the organization's default roles — Admin and Member — with their standard permission sets.
- Creates your user account and marks you as the organization's Owner.
- Sends you an account-confirmation notification by email.
You're the Owner
Because you created the organization, your account is assigned the Owner role. The Owner has full access to every part of the platform — the same broad permissions as an Admin — and is the one account in your organization that can't be removed or downgraded by anyone else. See Understanding Roles: Owner, Admin, and Member for the full breakdown.
Only one person holds the Owner role per organization: whoever completes the sign-up.
After Your Account Is Created
Once you're signed up, you're signed in and landed on your Dashboard. From here you can:
- Invite your team so others can start submitting or approving requests.
- Add products to your catalog before creating your first request.
- Review your organization's subscription and seat limit in Settings.
