Editing a Product Category
Update a product category's name, base price, or custom fields.
You can edit any product category to update its name, base price, description, or custom fields. Changes to a category's Base Price will be reflected on products in that category the next time a product is saved.
Who can edit categories
The Edit action is visible to users with the edit product categories permission.
Opening the edit form
- Go to Categories in the sidebar.
- Find the category you want to update.
- Click the Edit action in the category's row.
This navigates to the category edit page, pre-filled with the current values.
Details tab
| Field | Description |

| Name | The category name. Must remain unique within your organization. |
| Base Price | The base List Price for products in this category. |
| Description | Optional free-text description. |
Custom Fields tab
The Custom Fields tab is available to users with the custom fields permission. Use the form builder to add, reorder, or remove custom fields for this category.
Changes to custom fields take effect on the product form the next time a user selects this category when adding or editing a product.
Saving changes
You have two save options:
- Save — saves your changes and returns you to the category list
- Save and continue editing... — saves and keeps you on the edit page
