Your First Login: A Tour of the Dashboard
Get oriented before you start configuring your organization.
After you sign in for the first time, you land on the Dashboard. This article is a quick orientation to what's around you, followed by a checklist for what to set up next.
The sidebar
The left sidebar is how you get everywhere in DiscountFlow. What you see depends on your role and permissions (see Understanding Roles: Owner, Admin, and Member), but a fully-permissioned Owner or Admin sees:
| Section | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Your analytics home page — request activity and performance metrics |
| Active Requests / Approved Requests / Denied Requests / Archived Requests | The request list pages, filtered by status |
| Kanban Board | A visual, column-based view of Active, Approved, and Denied requests |
| Manage Products | Your organization's price list |
| Categories | Product categories, which set base pricing and custom fields for products |
| Settings (gear icon) | Organization-wide configuration — branding, team, approval levels, request types, custom fields, subscription, and API |
| My Account (your name/avatar) | Your personal profile, password, and sign-out |
The Dashboard

The Dashboard shows a real-time snapshot of request activity, scoped to a date range (last 30 days by default). What you see depends on your access:
- Everyone sees their own request metrics and charts (My Analytics).
- Owners, Admins, and anyone with company analytics access can toggle to Company Analytics for organization-wide numbers.
See Dashboard Overview for a full breakdown of what each metric and chart means.
Before your team starts using DiscountFlow
The Dashboard and request lists will be empty until your organization is configured and has a product catalog. As the Owner or an Admin, work through these in order:
- Set up your product catalog — create categories, then add or import the products your team will quote.
- Configure your request settings — define request types, approval levels, and any custom fields your team's workflow needs.
- Invite your team — bring in the people who'll submit and review requests.
Once those are in place, requests submitted by your team will start populating the Dashboard and request lists automatically.
