Using the Kanban Board
View your requests in a visual board with Active, Approved, and Denied columns
The Kanban Board provides a visual alternative to the individual request list pages. Instead of navigating between separate pages for each status, the board shows all three outcome groups side by side in a single view.
Navigating to the Kanban Board
Click Kanban Board in the sidebar under the Approval Requests section. The board is visible to users with request access permissions.
Board layout
The board has three columns:
ColumnWhat it shows
Active
All requests that are not yet approved or denied — drafts, submitted, and pending
Approved
All approved requests
Denied
All denied requests
Each column is scrollable if there are more cards than fit in the visible area.
Request cards
Each request is represented by a card showing summary information about that request. Click a card to open the full request details view or edit form, depending on your role and the request’s current status.
Visibility rules
The same visibility rules that apply to the list pages apply to the board:
- Users without view-all access or an approval level see only their own requests across all three columns.
- Users with an approval level or view-all access see requests from all team members.
Creating a new request from the board
Click New Request… in the command bar at the top of the board. This opens the request form. After saving or submitting, you are returned to the Kanban Board.
When to use the board vs list pages
Use the Kanban Board when you want a high-level visual overview of all request activity across statuses. Use the individual list pages when you need to filter, sort, search, or take bulk actions on requests.
